The data controller

This website is operated by Laszlo Hornyik trading as B2B Identity, a private advisory practice based in the United Kingdom.

For any data protection matter, you can contact us at: hello@b2bidentity.co.uk

We are committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about how we use it. This policy explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what your rights are under UK law.

Data we may collect

This is a content-only website. We do not operate contact forms, user accounts, or payment processing. The data we may collect is limited to the following:

  • Email correspondence. If you contact us directly by email, we will hold your name, email address, and the contents of your message. This is used solely to respond to your enquiry.
  • Analytics data. If you consent to analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects anonymised information about how you use this site — pages visited, time spent, approximate location at country level. This does not identify you personally.
  • The Anonymous Thinker. The interactive tool on this site collects no data whatsoever. Your answers are processed entirely in your browser and are never transmitted to us or any third party.

How we use cookies

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device. Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR, we are required to obtain your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.

Cookie Type Purpose Duration
b2bi_cookie_consent Strictly necessary Stores your cookie preference so we do not ask again on every page 1 year
_ga, _ga_* Analytics (optional) Google Analytics — tracks anonymised usage patterns to help us understand how the site is used Up to 2 years
_gid Analytics (optional) Google Analytics — distinguishes users during a 24-hour window 24 hours

Analytics cookies are only set if you click "Accept analytics" on our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics does not load.

You can withdraw your consent or change your preference at any time:

Why we are allowed to use your data

Under UK GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for processing personal data. We rely on the following:

  • Consent — for analytics cookies. You can withdraw this at any time using the button above.
  • Legitimate interests — for responding to email enquiries. We have a legitimate interest in communicating with people who contact us directly, and this does not override your rights.

Who we share data with

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to any third party.

If you consent to analytics cookies, data is shared with Google LLC via Google Analytics 4. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf. We have enabled IP anonymisation, which means your full IP address is not stored. Google may transfer data outside the UK — they operate under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

No other third-party tracking, advertising, or analytics tools are used on this site.

How long we keep data

  • Email enquiries — retained for as long as necessary to handle the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards (typically no longer than 2 years), then deleted.
  • Analytics data — retained by Google Analytics for up to 14 months (the minimum available setting), after which it is automatically deleted.
  • Cookie consent preference — stored in your browser for up to 1 year.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your personal data where there is no legitimate reason to keep it.
  • Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to withdraw consent — for analytics cookies, you can withdraw consent at any time using the button in section 03 above. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@b2bidentity.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month.

How to raise a concern

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it. If you remain unsatisfied, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
